Concentration Update as of 8:13 p.m. on December 2nd.
Okay I changed some borders and I added some more pictures. I think my progression is from the animals to the more materialistic side of farming.....not super sure how it's gonna work out yet.

Concentration in Progress
Disclaimer: The statement does not make sense because all the pictures are not here.
The central idea of my concentration is farm life, and the small details of the farm in the tools as well as the animals and the people living on the farm. The media I used to compose these images is photography and photo shop. In my images I showed daily farm life through the people on the farm, the tools they use, and the animals they take care of.

Hmm
This weekend I played around with some older pictures from earlier this semester on photoshop and these are the results.
Opposites
For my opposite, I did something heavily photoshopped. I took this picture of a sunflower on a cool rust pole, I changed hue and saturation, I added a lens flare, I added a filter (Palette Knife), I adjusted brightness and contrast, I then changed the rust so that it was a more unified color, and used the impressionist brush to blend it a little bit better. Here's a before and after of the picture, I then added text. I tried to push myself but I don't really like using photoshop so any more changes and I didn't like the way that it looked anymore.

Silk Painting
this is my silk painting of the very hungry caterpillar and all his foods. cool. I would give myself maybe around a 3 because I worked really hard on it and I tried to understand color theory, but in some spots the ink runs onto the resist and colored where it was supposed to be white and it definitely could have been better. I used the design concepts and I was original. It aligns well with 4.B and 3.A and 3.E , I could have done a lot more cool things with it if I had been willing to risk more.

Weekly Challenge 6
For my weekly challenge 6 I chose the word wander. I love the word, and the way it sounds and the association of adventuring and being free. I just like the word. I also do not like illustrator, but I had fun drawing like a little kid with the paintbrush tool.

Weekly Challenge 5
I chose to base my pictures this week off of the poem On Raglan Road by Patrick Kavanagh. I focused mainly on the autumn aspect of it. While on a hike I tried to capture the essence of fall and the feelings of something enchanting luring you in.

Narrative Series
My narrative was based on people who are broken by others or society. It starts and the "leaf" is perfect and really happy with itself and then it begins to crumple, and slowly it gets told that it isn't as perfect as it thought it was, and it ends up completely crumpling and dying and it's spectacular green color can't show through because the sad green leaf has died and turned yellowish brown.

20 Layers
Here is my 20 layers project! I didn't really have a theme, I tried to just focus on myself and expressing who I am.

Weekly Challenge 3
For my third weekly challenge I drew "Surreal landscape: add something funky" so I added lemons! Jared and I went to the thrift shop, found a bag of plastic lemons, and drove around trying to find cool places to shoot landscape pictures. We ended up finding this cool dirt road where the lighting was pretty near perfect and the yellow lemons really stood out. I tried messing with the colors and saturation to make the image more surreal because I hate HDR, but I think that using HDR for this challenge could have made it much more surreal.

Weekly Challenge 2
Eric Tourneret
For weekly challenge two, I chose to emulate an artist. Eric Tourneret is known as The Bee Photographer and takes some really cool pictures of bees. I wish the bee was facing the camera, but I still like the picture. Lately I'm obsessed with sunflowers and cool yellow colors. I love the feel of summer and sunflowers give me that feel.

Weekly Challenge 1: Portraiture
For my first weekly challenge, I chose to redo the portraiture challenge. I tried to capture the simplicity of summer with Leah's cute simple dress and these gorgeous yellow sunflowers.
Summer Work: Flower
Summer Work: Shadows
This piece was taken for my summer work. I took it in my house late at night, when I woke up at 3 in the morning and felt like taking pictures. I'm a strong believer that when you can't sleep, you shouldn't make yourself. I took it in my hallway, because I was trying to play with shadows. I think that the stark difference between light and dark and the cool spiral light fixture detail are cool.
